Whatever you think of the famous “10,000 hours” framing, the broader argument is useful: exceptional performance is not simply the result of exceptional individuals. Environment, opportunity, timing, repetition, and systems all contribute.

I think about that when building teams. Do not just hire talented people. Build an environment where talented people can become exceptional.
